t’ARTs!
This Sunday sees the first of the Bank Square Arts Markets. April Fools Day but not a prank! There will be over 20 of us set up in The Pannier Market, Tavistock 10am-4pm. Cafe and toilets, bookstall, Photography, Fine Art,Textiles, Ceramics, Wood, Metal, and Jewellery. Fabulous things made by fabulous people. Original, hand made and you can speak to the Artists themselves.
Bank Square is a regeneration project aimed to support the old market area of Tavistock. It’s been so well received that markets are now planned for the first weekend of the month right through to Christmas and we have extended our remit to include Bedford Square and The Pannier Market. I can’t help calling it t”ARTs! Short for Tavistock Arts. WE like the idea of parading round the town with a tray of pink and yellow jam tarts to help advertise our wares. We need a pied piper to gather all the visitors up and lead them to where ever the market is placed.
“Be there or be square” and “Pinch and a punch first of the Month” are our slogans along with the catchy square logo, pink back ground and yellow wrapped parcel. One day it will be as known as the Nike tick I say confidently!
Supported by West Devon Council, Tavistock Town Council and The Chamber of Commerce we just need your support now too. Do come and see us, have a coffee and treat yourself or buy a present for a friend. Feast your eyes on the beautiful and original works that have been inspired by this wonderful part of the world. Tell everyone you know about it and enjoy Tavistock, a World Heritage Site, a Stannary Town and a thoroughly lovely place to visit!
