“Nothing too grand and nothing too humble – we can work on all sorts of furniture from granny’s foot stool to antique sofas, all with the same level of expertise and care. We are known for the quality of the materials we use and we always try, where possible, to use traditional methods of upholstery. We have over 28years’ experience during which time we have gained an excellent reputation for our high quality workmanship.”

A quote from Bruce’s website. I first met Bruce several years ago as I was hunting somewhere I could make buttons. I wanted to revisit machine finished ones-tiny tiny little buttons that require machines to crimp and press. Bruce was so welcoming and helpful. It is Bruce’s skill, knowledge and expertise that completes my 3D works. We have much in common, a terrible sense of humor for one and have become firm friends. It is Bruce I turn to for important major pieces because I wish to preserve traditional skills.

During open studios with Drawn to the Valley 2014 I also met Claire Layland, of http://www.dartmoorchairs.co.uk whom has quickly became a friend and colleague. I introduced Claire and Bruce sensing they had the same aspirations, principles and I am delighted to say they have combined forces. Claire writes ”I have a passion for re-upholstering or re-covering traditional, antique, vintage and retro chairs, stools, sofas, dining chairs and armchairs.”

Claire has completed several commissioned pieces for me.
